We do our best to manage this by having placed signage in the above unit and providing items such as a sound machine in the Captains Quarters. Although we have hosted many guests where this has not had an effect on their stay we do recommend taking this into consideration during the booking process. You'll find everything you need within the well equipped Captain's Quarters. This space and everything thoughtfully sourced inside is new and in pristine condition for welcoming in new guests.
Easily accessible with your own parking space (1) and walking path to the quarter's front door. Once inside, conveniently drop your belongings off in the bedroom, storage space allows you to tuck your things away nicely and hang any necessary items. You'll find the cozy bedroom a welcomed place to rest and recharge, literally - with plenty of charging ports at your (queen-sized) bedside.
The bathroom is centrally located within the space and is well stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hand soap.
The main living space offers a comfortable pull out couch, recliner, more charging ports, games, books and streaming tv. All in view of beautiful Deer Harbor Marina.
The Captain's Quarter's has all the necessities a good galley needs. Fridge, oven, stove, microwave and toaster. Beyond the basics we also provide coffee, cooking oil and spices, all cooking utensils for tasty meals ahead can be found.
A kitchen table with seating for 4 is a great option for enjoying the fruits of your labor, however we highly suggest walking out on to the deck to enjoy at least one of your meals if not your morning coffee or local brew.
The deck is easily the gem of this stay. You'll be a stone's throw from fresh Salish sea breeze. Watch the boats slip in and out of the harbor, sea planes skillfully land, families recreating at the beach and sea birds eagerly monitoring the low tides. A tenant occupying a small rental next to the Captains Quarters has access to a small portion of the outermost deck but does not have access to any portion of the Captains Quarters deck area.
A propane grill allows you to fully engage the deck area if you're in the mood.
If not, plenty of options nearby can satisfy your cravings. Island Pie, the Marina Grill (groceries, espresso, beer and wine too), and Matthew's Smokehouse will not disappoint.
The Captain's Quarters rental is the ideal landing spot for one or two travelers. If you're part of a larger group looking to stay in the same general area we also manage the Harbormaster House right upstairs, a 3 bedroom rental with a spacious deck. In order to book these in unison we suggest scoping out availability in advance. Send us a message, we're happy to help coordinate.
Deer Harbor is a quiet village outside of the main hub of Eastsound on Orcas. There's a good local hum to the area, yet you'll feel plenty removed from the city and its general busyness.
Being that the Captain's Quarters are within a larger building it would be good of us to advise that if you are looking for complete quiet, a stand alone home may better suit your needs. General noise from time to time may be heard and we wouldn't want to leave you unadvised.
This is also a great option for meeting up with your friends who boated on in and are tied up at the Marina.
If you're looking for an adventurous getaway from the city just imagine hoping aboard a float plane, gliding into a protected inlet, taking a short stroll up through the marina and settling in the Captain's Quarters for while. Everything you need within reach. It's possible, and we're here to help make those beautiful escapes a reality!

A few notes on directions:
Whether you enter “Deer Harbor” or “Eastsound,” you should arrive correctly. Just make sure your directions lead you to Deer Harbor. Another good landmark to enter is Island Pie, which will guide you right to the area. Some routes may take you along Upper Deer Harbor Rd. instead of Deer Harbor Rd. — both work, but Deer Harbor Rd. follows the water and offers a more scenic drive.

Parking is located between Island Pie and the WorldMark Office, marked for one vehicle.
If you have more than one vehicle, please use additional street parking nearby. You can also use the marina parking lot located directly behind and across the street)
The other two parking spots are reserved for the Harbormaster House, so please be sure to park only in the designated spot and leave space for others.
